Responsibilities:
- Branding & Relationship Management. Successful Council Chairs will identify and build relationships with the leading professionals and firms in the region. Top targets typically include government research entities, industry associations, prominent academics, board members of quasi-governmental organizations, and niche policy consulting firms.
- Product Development and Marketing. Successful Council Chairs will leverage company’s proprietary data management systems to organize, merchandise, and market company Councils to internal and external clients. Premier products, for which the Chair will take personal responsibility, include small-group Roundtable events for top clients and Council Members.
- Internal Leadership. This position reports to the Vice President for Operations for the Region, and will be responsible for close coordination with Sales; with the Practice Leaders in New York, London, and Hong Kong; and in some cases for direct management of additional professionals. Successful Council Chairs will work closely with peers, senior management, and junior colleagues to rapidly build the quality and scale of the company Councils in each region. Additionally, the Council Chair is responsible for ensuring excellent project execution and adherence to company client service and compliance standards, and should develop a keen sense over time of the ideal company solutions and experts appropriate for specific client requests.
Requirements:
- 5-10 years of experience in one of the fields in Law, Policy, or government relation, in addition to a graduate degree from a top institution in one of these fields.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships with senior professionals, former government officials and industry association secretary generals.
- Demonstrated performance in an operations management role with some or all of the following characteristics:
Success working in complex multi-task team environments
Confidence interacting/communicating with different populations
Accurate sense and awareness of key government policy research entities and industry associations
A successful track record in hiring and building a business unit within a larger organization,

especially in managing large pools of young professionals
- Demonstrated effectiveness in some or all of the following areas:
Leading or participating on business-to-business client service teams
Sales, negotiation, or networking with high-end professionals, including experience designing outbound telephone communications campaigns
- Fluency in English and Mandarin is essential
